I have a Kingsford Barrel Smoker/Cooker which uses charcoal and I would like to paint it?
It has never been covered and the weather has faded its beautiful black finish. I have sanded it and wet sanded it then I primed it with primer and then I finished with a good black coat.
I noticed the first time I used it after painting 3 days later the paint seemed to bubble just a bit by the thermometer just above the handle near the opening. My question is should I paint the cooker while it is hot or should I have waited longer before I used it? I am replacing the wood on it also, it is starting to look like it did when I first purchased it.
don't paint it when it is hot, and make sure to use high temp. grill paint.
