what foods are low carb yet provide enough calories for an adult?
Hi, I am 6ft and 192 lbs guy. I want to try low carb diet for a week or two. I have tried it before and since I cut down all breads, rice, fruits, milk, cereals my daily calorie intake was reduced by a big amount. I need 2200+ calories a day while during low carb weeks I was eating only 1300 - 1400 cals a day.
I was having the following
Breakfast - 1 egg, 2 low carb soy sausages, - (270 calories)
Lunch - 1 low carb tortilla, tomato, mushroom, green peppers, cheese, - (250 - 270 calories)
3 PM Snacks - Celery and carrots (50 calories)
Evening - Brocolli, lettuce ( 120 calories)
Dinner - Grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomatoes, (150 - 170 calories)
It never reached my required calories for a day.
Can someone suggest me foods that are low carbs and I can get the necessary calories from them? I am not a big meat eater, only chicken and eggs for me.
Any help is appreciated.
so when i changed over to eat low carb permanently i had to up my fat intake to get enough calories.
butter,coconut oil,peanut butter,nuts,mayo. no low fat anything. of course,some people think high fat foods are not healthy. i don't(care).
